ABOUT US

America's Classic Cinemas continues to travel across the county, collecting photos and memories of these places that have provided entertainment to so many people.  It is important to give these places an online presence in order to share them with both those who have fond memories, and those whom have never had the opportunity to visit them.  All images are the property of David Leonhardt  unless noted and cannot be used without permission.

STATE THEATRE

Address: 35 Washington Ave E, Hutchinson, MN 55350

Opened: December 28, 1937

Architect: Liebenberg & Kaplan

Website: http://www.statetheatrehutch.com

Red and Linda purchased the State Theatre over 11 years ago.  In that time, they have become an integral part of this close community.  They take great pride in the fact that their ticket prices have not increased in those 11 years.  In addition, their concession pricing is incredible!

What drew us to this cinema was the Liebenberg and Kaplan design, topped off by the beautiful marquee.  The details in the lobby area showcase many L & K standards, and any fan of their work will see these immediately upon entering.   We will soon be scheduing another visit to photograph the rest of the theater, and get that beautiful marquee all lit with neon!
